Yoga Holiday Experience

Yoga Holiday Experience

There’s something special about going on a yoga holiday that brings us a sense of purpose and well-being beyond the typical holiday. It’s a way of being kind to ourselves and following our heart’s desires. It's an opportunity to be with ourselves, surrounded by tranquillity and creating a space for rejuvenation. Engaging in yoga twice daily, in the morning and evening, allows for new expressions of mind, body, and soul, providing us with a sense of spaciousness. This routine allows our minds to receive new teachings and enables us to listen to and trust our bodies, fostering energy and relaxation. Taking the time to care for our souls allows our inner spirit to emerge, bringing with it a sense of freedom and pure joy that we may miss in our everyday lives.

At Villa De Zoysa, yoga truly matters.

Unlike strictly regimented yoga retreats, our yoga holiday timetable is designed to allow you to find the perfect balance between yoga and your other interests. You have the opportunity to practice yoga daily, enhance and deepen your practice, experience new teachings, and feel part of a supportive community. However, if you decide not to attend every class, that’s perfectly fine. You're also here to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and engage in meaningful discussions, which are integral to the wellbeing experience on a yoga holiday. Whether it's lounging on a hammock, practising in the yoga shala, meditating in a quiet corner, or relaxing by the pool.

Every moment contributes to nurturing the heart space.

Your wellbeing truly matters at Villa De Zoysa.

Embracing a yoga holiday focused on well-being involves a holistic approach to self-care practices. You have the option to indulge in Ayurvedic treatments or therapeutic massages from our excellent masseur, and savour our amazing food - simple, exquisite, and healthy rice and curries (often rated as the best on the island). Additionally, you’ll have plenty of free time between breakfast and evening yoga sessions to enjoy the glorious beaches of Hikkaduwa and Unawatuna. Whether you choose to swim, surf, snorkel, or simply relax and read a good book with a glass of freshly made juice, the free time is yours to embrace whatever makes you feel most alive, restored, and rested.

Surfing and yoga are a dynamic duo for holistic well-being. The rhythmic motion of surfing strengthens the core, builds endurance, and enhances balance, while yoga complements these physical benefits by increasing flexibility, improving focus, and reducing stress. Together, they create a powerful synergy that promotes a strong, toned, and centered body. Moreover, the ocean's invigorating energy, often referred to as "vitamin sea," has a profound impact on mental health. Studies have shown that spending time near the water reduces stress, anxiety, and depression, while boosting mood and creativity.
